Adult Services
Adult Protective Services in Jackson County, NC
Our adult protective services in Jackson County, NC, are provided to defend vulnerable or disabled adults. On a 24/7 basis, we evaluate and assess reports of suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of adults.
Guardianship Services
The Jackson County Department of Social Services is appointed by the Court as guardian for elderly or disabled persons who are mentally incompetent and unable to make informed decisions about their personal care and finances. When no other responsible individuals are available or ready to act on behalf of the adult, we are designated as guardians.
Special Assistance In-Home
(SA/IH)
Adults with Medicaid approval can live safely in their homes thanks to the support services and monetary payments provided by SA/IH. As a result, this prevents them from being placed in an adult care facility.
Protective Payeeship
When individuals cannot manage their financial commitments, the Court or Social Security appoints us to receive and oversee the proper use of benefit funds.
Monitoring of Adult Care Facilities and Day Programs
The adherence to state licensure and certification requirements is monitored in adult care homes and adult day care programs. Investigations of complaints are carried out in licensed facilities.
Get in touch with us for more information about our programs. We hope to improve the quality of life of vulnerable and disabled adults.
